Extending God’s Love to others!
- Essential items
They say, better late than never! We completed our first quarterly food distribution, on Saturday. Through your financial investment, 14 women received 8.8 lbs of maize flour, cooking oil, 2.2 lbs of sugar, milk, tea leaves, and a bar of soap.
Each item was intentionally selected because it represents an everyday household essential. Maize flour is used to make ugali, a staple food served in many homes throughout Kenya. A single bar of soap is highly practical and often serves multiple purposes, including laundry, dishwashing, and bathing. Kenya’s history as a former British colony also contributed to a strong tea-drinking culture, making tea leaves, milk, and sugar common daily necessities in many households.
At a time when food prices remain high following COVID-19, and with recent fuel price increases in Kenya creating additional hardship for many families, these simple items brought great joy, comfort, and encouragement. Depending on the size of each family, these supplies can help sustain them for a week or even longer. Through your generosity, families were reminded that they are not forgotten and were encouraged through the love of Christ.
Thank you for your faithful prayers, generosity, and partnership in the Gospel ministry.
As Scripture reminds us, “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart” (Galatians 6:9, NKJV).
May the Lord richly bless you.
With gratitude,
Ruth Deam
